Space Technology Has Created a Billion-Krone Industry in North Jutland

A new report shows that North Jutland is emerging as a European hub for space technology. The commercial opportunities in space are expected to grow explosively in the coming years.

The space industry has truly taken root in North Jutland and has become a sector with a turnover of several billion kroner.

Over the past two decades, a space cluster has developed, comprising around 40 companies with a total turnover of DKK 3.1 billion and more than 1,100 employees.

Most of these companies were founded by researchers or former students from Aalborg University.

This is shown in a new analysis from IRIS Group, based on data from Statistics Denmark, among other sources.

At the same time, the space cluster holds great potential. Space technology is a sector where the global market is expected to grow significantly over the next decade.
